Our ride to Port de Paix...a 10 seat Cessna Single Engine Piston. This tiny package carried all of our crates, luggage and team members across the island from Port au Prince. If you are doing the math, you can see that it did take a couple of trips but one by one....we all made it.
This adventure brought back childhood memories of trips in the summer with my father (who recently passed away) and on one hand it was a blessing to think back on those memories. On the other hand I knew that there would be a moment on humility required. In order for this tiny plane to stay in the air....everything that went on the plane had to weighed. Each had to get on the scale and be weighed in a room full of people. Although it was embarrassing and tough for me.....there was no one in that room that cared about it but me. I had feared this moment since the beginning of our planning stages and it was because I judged the people on my team and assumed they would judge me. It was another gift I had received from Satan. The team I was traveling with had hearts for serving and could have cared less what that scale said. I was humbled at that moment and realized that I am not SO important that these amazing people where in Haiti just to judge my weight issues.
Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor Proverbs 29:23

I know this feeling. Judging is a gift I also received from Satan. We need see others and more importantly ourselves as real authentic people. God made us uniquely different so we can serve together as one body. And He doesnt care what that body weights, He only cares that we shine his light to one another in LOVE. ♡♡♡
